Hi! So today is a big day for me, because I’ll be officially graduating with an Associate of Science from my old school! I technically graduated in 2022, but the community college I attended doesn’t have a fall graduation ceremony. I may share a picture with y’all from it if there are any good ones, but I’ll see, haha! I’m especially proud of how I decorated my graduation cap, even though I’m sure no one will get it (it’s a reference to the 80s TV show 21 Jumpstreet…we’ll see who gets it, haha!). But anyway, let’s get to the point of this post, which is the quote. I decided to go with this one, since I feel like it is a good quote for anyone who might be graduating either high school or college. Check it out!
“Home is now behind you. The world is ahead!” – Gandalf (The Hobbit)
This is such a beautiful quote (one I almost used for my high school yearbook quote). Biblo is going outside of his comfort zone in leaving the Shire and going with the dwarves to reclaim The Misty Mountains. For a lot of us, we might have to leave our comfort zones to go from high school to college, or from college to a job. Both are big changes that come with culture shock and perhaps even a longing for the past for some of us. Each of us will face different sorts of challenges, but one thing is for sure; we shouldn’t let those challenges stop us. We need to continue to learn and grow in whatever environment we are placed in. The world is ahead for us, and it’s about time we find our place in it!
Let me know your thoughts on this quote in the comments below! And as always, God bless y’all and have a wonderful week!
I love the quote. Reminds me of the song. And congratulations to you!
