Hey guys! I can’t believe tomorrow is the big day! As I’ve been saying, I don’t know if there will be any big announcements, but I will be crossing my fingers for one! In the meantime, I wanted to talk about some of the Disney worlds that I would like to see in future Kingdom Hearts games. Kingdom Hearts III introduced Pixar into the mix, so a few new ones came in, like Monsters Inc., Big Hero 6, Tangled, etc. However, there are a lot more that I think would be perfect for the next Kingdom Hearts games. Take a look! (MAJOR Spoiler Alert!)
Coco
This is #1 on my wish list, not only because I love this movie so much, but because I think it would fit perfectly into the story of Kingdom Hearts. In Coco, the protagonist, Miguel, visits the afterlife and gets a lesson in the power of memories, loss, and family. I think this would be perfect for the next major KH game, especially if we still get to play as Sora, because if the “bad” ending of the ReMind DLC is the canon ending, then this means that Sora is dead. In this case, perhaps Sora visits the afterlife from Coco as well? I think it would be really cool, and would make room for some great character development for Sora!
Inside Out
This movie still makes me cry to this day, and because of that, I think it would be a great addition to Kingdom Hearts. The story is about change, and how we cope with new environments and situations as we grow up, and so I think it would be the perfect place for Sora to visit. His life has obviously greatly changed, and he is growing up and becoming an adult now, so it would be interesting to see what kind of character development he could get from visiting the world of Inside Out.
Onward
I only recently saw this movie, and while it isn’t one of my favorites, I think it would be fun to visit (especially if Chris Pratt and Tom Holland return to voice the main characters <3). Not to mention that this movie focuses heavily on classis RPGs, and that would meld perfectly with Kingdom Hearts. It also focuses on loss, so that’s another reason why it would be good for the next Kingdom Hearts game.
Moana
Honestly, I’m wondering if they’ll ever do this one since Port Royal (Pirates of the Caribbean) focused so much on seafaring. I still think it would be fun to have this world, if only for the sake of visiting the sea again! As for the story, I can’t really see what sort of things it would bring to KH’s plot, but man! I just want to see what the graphics and gameplay would be like!
Up
This is an oldie, but a goodie, and I STILL cry. Up follows the main character as he copes with the loss of his wife, and it is SAD. And it would also be a great world for Sora to visit! Like the other movies on this list, it deals a lot with loss and grief, so I would be curious to see how Sora interacts with the characters and how he would grow with this experience, since he has also gone through some loss. Also, the interactions would just be fun in general between these characters!
Star Wars
Obviously this is going on the list, because practically the whole fandom wants it! Star Wars has so many possibilities for worlds, but I don’t really mind what they do with it as long as there’s SOMETHING Star Wars. I do think it would be cool to visit during the Clone Wars Era, or even The Mandalorion so I can see Sora interact with Mando and Grogu. It would be adorable! But yeah, whatever world they bring it, I’m sure it would be awesome!
Marvel
This is another one that a lot of KH fans have been wanting to see, and now I am in that boat as well! I have recently been trying to catch up with the MCU (I’m always late to the party with this stuff), and I think a world centered around the Avengers would be AMAZING. Again, I wouldn’t mind what sort of world it is, though I think The Avengers movie would be a good place to start. Or they could get crazy and do something like Infinity War or Endgame. Who knows! Either way, I would love to see Sora interact with the Avengers!
