An announcement was made a few days ago that is pretty big! It turns out that Star Wars 9 will not be the last of the Star Wars trilogies. Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson will be creating these films alongside Ram Bergman, who has worked with Johnson many times before. Disney has made the following statement regarding the announcement.
“Lucasfilm is excited to announce that Johnson will create a brand-new Star Wars trilogy, the first of which he is also set to write and direct, with longtime collaborator Ram Bergman on board to produce.”
But a new trilogy isn’t the only news! You might remember a while back when Disney announced that they would have an new streaming service in 2019. Well, something that will be coming out with the streaming service is a brand new live-action Star Wars TV series. With Star Wars Rebels coming to an end next year, it figures that they would start a new TV series pretty fast. You know? I might be the only one, but I think that putting out a new Star Wars movie out every year is a little much. One day, I think, that excitement for Star Wars might go away. We wouldn’t want that happening, would we? But what do you think about these announcements? What time era do you think the new TV series will cover? Let me know in the comments!
